R. Morris Passmore Bio

R. Morris Passmore is a retired Navy CDR. He spent over 27 years on reserve and active duty working counter-drug, counter terrorism and cyber security analytics in assignments in Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia, the Pentagon, the NSA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, Scotland, at sea, and in Afghanistan. He has seen the beauty of other cultures and perspectives, but also seen what happens when heartless people who would oppress others are not deterred by those who would defend the innocent and helpless.
After receiving a BA in Family Counseling, he served as a Youth Pastor for 7 years in Colorado, he earned a degree in Secondary Education and served as a High School teacher for 14 years in Colorado and Oklahoma. His first year of teaching was at Columbine High School, so he has seen what is the direct result of bullying and hatred.
Throughout 21 years of working with adolescents and years of military experience, Morris has not lost his sincere conviction that all people everywhere are created in the image of God. At the heart of it all, the common yearning of the human heart is belongingness, and the common thread of true religions is the pursuit of forgiveness and justice.

KARU MAR BOOKS

Mystical Lusa contains all three books of the Karu Mar Redemption series

I wrote this book as a family devotional. It is a fun-filled ABC book with no-nonsense Biblical references and subject related photos instead of just silliness. This book is specifically designed for genuine parent-child interaction. Parents or children can go together to the Biblical reference that is provided in the corresponding simple four line poem.

The once beautiful land of Lusa is in discord. In the beginning, all was at peace; heaven and earth were as one. The Creator appointed dragons to justly rule and to protect all of Lusa, but selfishness and evil caused rebellion. Where there was once a beautiful harmony of all the creatures and Lusans, there is now turmoil. Three teens; two sisters and a young man, are gifted with special powers from heaven to join with the righteous dragons and creatures to battle the evil prince Toh-Kali and his minions to restore the kingdom of light. The teens, along with an unlikely crew of interesting creatures, join Captain Eli on his sailing ship, the Karu Mar, and travel to mysterious islands as they grow to depend upon and care for each other while developing their skills in fighting evil monsters and powers in their defense of the oppressed. The Lusan prophecy stated:

Weep not, Lusa, though evil prevails
now comes the Kingdom that shall not fail.
No longer shall evil have power to reign
All shall be restored to peace once again.
When princess and commoner sisters be,
they are the warriors to set the land free.

The fulfillment of the prophecies. to restore the kingdom will not be easy; the crew must face increasing resistance from dark forces and dangerous adversaries, both Lusan and beast. Still, the Creator was watching and sent previously unknown powerful allies to help them in their struggles to restore the Kingdom.
Come, ride along with the Karu Mar and you will learn deep spiritual truths to help strengthen your character and faith.

Jessica’s family moved to a Muslim country in response to an invitation from the government. While attending the International School , she befriended a Muslim student, Amir. They became fast friends, mainly through their shared interest in motocross riding. Unfortunately, when the country became involved in a religious civil war, the extremists won and all “infidels” were abused and/or banished. For his efforts to help his non Muslim friends, Amir was declared an enemy of Islam. This is the story of how Jessica and Amir, with the help of a moderate Muslim cleric, escaped being captured. However, in the process of escape, they became unwittingly involved in the machinations of a major terrorist attack against the USA. When they tried to warn of the attack, they were trapped and nobody believed their story. That is until one lone FBI agent, newly assigned, risked his career to find and save them. He has to overcome some seemingly impossible hurdles to stop the attacks.

For many people, nature is a wonderful place of worship. Ps 24:1 states: The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. In Psalm 8 we are reminded of the love of God when we consider the heavens. There are many lessons to be learned from nature pointing to our Creator. This book is a compilation of salient lessons that I have learned through nature and through the scriptures.
